Review of 2024

As we enter 2025, our CEO Ruth has been looking back at the last twelve months to reflect on another extremely busy year at Footprints in the Community. Here’s some of the ways we helped to reduce poverty and isolation and improve health and wellbeing during 2024:
🥫Over 62 tonnes of food donated and distributed via our nine Foodbank centres. More than 7,000 people received three meals a day for at least three days – totalling over 63,000 meals provided through Foodbank.
🥫383 individuals supported through our two Next Step Shops, with 6,500 attendances!
🔨287 Shed Sessions held, with 1,631 attendances.
📈Over £1 million in financial gains secured for our clients through our partnership with Citizens Advice.
🧡45 Reflections Dementia Support Groups held throughout the year, providing essential support to those living with or caring for someone with dementia.
🥪331 free packed lunches, craft activities, and games provided for primary-aged children during the summer school holidays.
🧡82 individuals received 1:1 support through our Community Wellbeing Partnership.
☕Our Footprints Community Cafe refurbished to create a new space to hold community events.
🧡Numerous cash donations enabling us to purchase needed supplies.
📈Successful grant applications that help cover our overheads.
🙋170 volunteers attended 1,417 different sessions, totalling 5,415 attendances and contributing 17,813 hours of service – an equivalent value of £203,780.72 at minimum wage!
And the list goes on👣
💬“Sometimes, we serve as a port in a temporary storm, other times making non-living wages stretch just enough. But always, we love and care for our most vulnerable with respect and hope. Thank you for your support during 2024 and we look forward to another year, helping to reduce isolation and poverty and improve health and wellbeing in our local communities.”
