The Shed

Share tools and experience in our friendly workshop

The Shed is is based at Queen Street in Redcar. It is a woodworking shop for members to work on their own projects in an informal and supportive environment, run by the Shed Manager and a small number of volunteers.

Bespoke items can also be made to order for members of the public or other local organisations. Please get in touch to find out more.

Over Summer 2023 The Shed has been closed to members for renovations. We are slowly reopening and planning an exciting new program of sessions and stand-alone workshops. If you’ve got woodworking or general crafting skills and experience that you’d like to share, we are looking to recruit a number of new volunteers, including:
· General session volunteers – helping The Shed Manager with the running of our regular woodworking sessions and supporting members with their own craft projects,
· Community project volunteers – undertaking custom projects either in the workshop or out in the community, to customer specifications, or making items to sell to raise funds for The Shed,
· Workshop volunteers – working with The Shed Manager to plan and run stand-alone craft workshops, to appeal to a variety of groups and individuals.

Opening times are currently Monday and  Tuesday 9am-2pm (for Shed members). The cost is £3 per day session. There is a small annual membership fee, which can be paid quarterly.

For more information or to arrange a visit, please email theshed@footprintsinthecommunity.co.uk or telephone 07518299133, or just pop in during opening hours.
