For safety reasons, our centres will be operating with a minimum number of volunteers and are only able to offer a basic service at this time.

These arrangements are likely to change in the future. Please bear with us and our hard-working volunteers at this very difficult time. Our Facebook page has the most up to date information.

PLEASE NOTE: As we are now reopening foodbank centres, we are no longer able to deliver food parcels.

About Redcar Area Foodbank

Redcar Area Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust and sharing their procedures and best practice. We currently run nine foodbank centres across the area. We work with a wide range of local care professionals, such as doctors, health visitors, social workers and other charities, to help identify people in genuine crisis and issue them with a foodbank voucher. Clients can then bring their voucher to any of our centres where it can be redeemed for three-days’ emergency food. Up to four foodbank vouchers can be redeemed in any six-month period.

All clients who visit one of our foodbank centres will be given a warm welcome by our dedicated team of trained volunteers and offered a warm drink, snack and a listening ear, whilst their food parcel is prepared. They can be signposted to other agencies and projects who provide help to people in crisis.
