Our current volunteering opportunities

We are currently recruiting volunteers across our projects:

  • Next Step Shop volunteer – based at 10 Queen Street, Redcar – Tuesdays or Wednesdays between 8.30am-1pm (later start also possible). This role involves helping members select and pack their shopping, stocking shelves and generally supporting the Shop Manager.
  • First Steps project – based at our warehouse in Dormanstown – Mondays 8.30am-12noon (and/or some Thursdays 8.30am-12noon).  This is an admin role and will involve answering emails, general queries and inputting onto a database.
  • Redcar Area Foodbank – various opportunities within our nine foodbank centres across the Redcar & Cleveland area – Monday – Friday daytimes. Welcoming clients, packing food parcels, preparing snacks/drinks and general help.
  • Redcar Area Foodbank – based at our warehouse in Dormanstown – Mondays and/or Thursdays 8.30am-12noon. Sorting and weighing-in donations of food and making-up orders to go out to our nine foodbank centres across the area.
  • Footprints Community Cafe based on Redcar High Street – various opportunities Monday to Friday 11am-2pm. This role may involve serving customers, clearing tables, operating the till and some food preparation.
  • The Shed volunteers – based at our woodworking shop in Queen Street, Redcar – various times/days.  Opportunities for general session volunteers, workshop and community project volunteers.
