Footprints Community CafeFresh healthy and affordable home cooking
Located at 14 High Street, Redcar
Our Footprints Community Cafe is temporarily closed until 2 December 2020 during the current Lockdown.
We can’t wait until we are back and able to serve you fresh, healthy and affordable food in a relaxed atmosphere. We are usually open Monday to Friday, offering a full breakfast and lunch menu or you can enjoy a delicious home-baked cake, scone or afternoon tea. You can browse our menu here:
Our cafe opened in September 2019, inside the South Tees Community Bank on Redcar High Street and we’re are proud that this partnership forms the first Community Bank Cafe in the UK.
To ensure social distancing we have limited seating inside and if the weather’s good, we now have an outdoor seating area. We are happy to take telephone orders for collection by your organisation or workplace. If you’d prefer us to come to you, we can cater for events at your venue, with a menu to suit your needs.
Kat (our Cafe Manager), Tanya (Assistant Manager) and their friendly team of volunteers offer everyone a warm welcome. You may recognise Kat, who was one of the stars of the BBC’s The Mighty Redcar, with her own inspirational story of making it from foodbank client to our Cafe Manager. So pop in and see us soon!
Pay it Forward
What really makes our cafe different is our innovative ‘Pay it Forward’ scheme, which allows our paying customers to buy a voucher for a drink or snack for someone who is unable to pay for themselves, for whatever reason. Our other Footprints in the Community projects and South Tees Community Bank will then distribute the vouchers, so that their clients can come along and enjoy a drink or snack in our cafe.
